On 12th of May 2022, the NWCSP hosted its very first NWCSP Evidence for Wound Care webinar exploring the VenUS 6 study, a randomised controlled trial of compression therapies for the treatment of venous leg ulcers. VenUS 6 is a current National Institute of Health and Social Care (NIHR)-funded wound care trial which is currently recruiting across the UK.

Guest speakers at the webinar included:

Professor Jo Dumville (University of Manchester): discussing the background of the VenUS 6 study and previous VenUS studies.

Catherine Arundel (Research Fellow, University of York): giving information about the design of the study and an update on the study at present.

Dr Leanne Atkin (Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust): sharing the Trust’s experiences as a VenUS 6 trial site.

Watch the event recording below or take a look at the slides from the VenUS 6 background and York Trials Unit study presentations.

This session is relevant to all health professionals with an interest in wound care and especially those who may want to consider further involvement in research.
