Supply and Distribution Webinar: Product Classification System and Options for Routes of Supply (16th November 11-12noon)

Oct 21, 2022 | News, Other

An NWCSP update on the development of a wound product classification system and a review of the routes of supply for wound management products.

Our new online webinar series begins with a focus on the NWCSP Supply and Distribution workstream and an update on two of its key projects, the development of a Wound Product Classification System and A Review of the Routes of Supply and Distribution of Wound Management Products in England.

1. An update on the development of a new Wound Product Classification System for the NHS in England.

Existing classification systems for wound products differ dependent on the chosen route of supply. Therefore, there is a lack of visibility of data on wound product use at national, regional or ICB level.

The new classification system will benefit organisations who list, supply and/or distribute wound management products but it also aims to provide a stronger basis for developing clinical decision support at the point of care. This webinar will provide an update on progress so far on development of the classification system and next steps.

2.  A Review of the Routes of Supply and Distribution of wound management products in England.

Supply routes for wound management products vary greatly between organisations and healthcare sectors. The NWCSP Supply and Distribution Advisory Group has undertaken a review of the key features associated with each of the available supply routes to support those in Integrated Care Systems who are responsible for deciding on the most appropriate route(s) of supply for these organisations. The webinar will provide participants with an overview of this review.
